Creating a Business Plan

When Staring a Business or Venturing into a new development, organization and or idea it is always good to start with a Business Plan. I learned in undergrad that 95% of small businesses and organizations who don’t have a business plan fail within 5 years of their startup.

A Business Plan can propel an individual or team of lucky entrepreneurs into focused success. When their is a map of an organization’s goals it is easier to track and tread through water…. especially, water in unknown territory.

A few traditional yet necessary components of a business plan include:
1. S.W.O.T. Analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats)
2. Financial Analysis
3. Management Analysis
4. Marketing Analysis
5. Technological Analysis (Including Social Media)
6. Organizational Analysis

There are more components as you go further down the rabbit’s hole. In addition, if you seek additional funding from Banks, Grants and etc. your plan will need to be wrapped pretty tight.

Learning All Over Again,

I have no doubt of my talent, creativity, ability, skill and know how in terms of research. But I’m learning all over again. God through his love, mercy and grace is showing me that in spite of these amazing attributes he has given me that I need him… even more as I grow wiser and older.
